"Her Story" addresses the lost history of women in a patriarchal society.
The woman must write her own story, held close to her and all but invisible
to the outside world. The figures in the background (clockwise from left)
are God the father (from Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel), Herodotus (the
father of history), George Washington (the father of our country), and a
depiction of God pulling Eve from Adam's rib (showing the roots of gender
bias in Christian mythology). The stack of books on which the woman sits
bear titles with a similar bias.
